- Hotline Miami is a high-octane action game overflowing with raw brutality, hard-boiled gunplay and skull crushing close combat. Set in an alternative 1989 Miami, you will assume the role of a mysterious antihero on a murderous rampage against the shady underworld at the behest of voices on your answering machine.
Portal Hotline Miami
Hi, this is my Prototype/Concept game which is a mashup of Portal and Hotline Miami. This isn't a full game, so not all of the features are implemented which I would have liked and there aren't very many maps. I've added a download link, aswell as a web player incase you use chrome or just prefer it in a standalone player :)
Hotline Miami takes place in 1989 Miami, where the player takes the role of an unnamed man dubbed 'Jacket' by fans for his distinctive letterman jacket. One day, he receives an answering machine message about a supposed delivery of 'cookies' to his home. Jacket finds a package outside containing a rooster mask and instructions to perform a hit on the Russian mafia and steal a.
This is mainly to get people's feedback to see if they like it, or to give inspiration to another developer :)
The game was made in Unity and took just over a week, it was a good learning experience for me, so even if people don't enjoy it much, it was still worth it :D
Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy the game. Please give me feedback on Twitter (or on this site if it's possible) :D

Can you at least update the game so that portals work on level 3?
OK I get it youve got more into the maimi side of things but since they cant move and are fast at killing you. It kind of sucks. I mean a more portal heavy puzzle side would have been more intressting to see. Now its just a reskin of hotline miami
i cant even get past level 1 because the turrets are turning around but they dont do that in portal
It's a mashup of portal & hotline miami, so although they don't turn around in portal they do stay still, and I was trying to find that middle point between the 2 games whilst keeping the difficulty.
I would recommend making the turrets turn slowly instead of immediately setting the angle to the players position.

Hi thanks for the feedback, this was only meant to be a small prototype but if I were to expand it in the future I'd probably have this. At the moment the delay from when the turret notices you to when it shoots is a bit too small and makes it so there are no real tactics to it, its just spamming the bullets as fast as possible, so I do see where you're coming from.
Cheers.

Portal Hotline Miami Mac Os Catalina
In 1980s Miami, our nameless protagonist is receiving phone calls telling him basically to kill people at certain locations. He obeys.
No, seriously, that's the basic story line of the game, it is very bare-bones in its structure. Vertiball mac os. There's two kinds of sections on this game: the ones where you are just walking around interacting with the environment; and when you're killing people who seem to be part of the Russian mafia.

- Big Bad: Played with. There is no antagonist who may really claim to this position, but the last level for the main hero is structured in such a way you can clearly see the Russian mafia boss as it, since he is the leader of almost all enemies you faced until now.
- Black and Gray Morality: The protagonist is killing criminals, but he doesn't seem to be doing it for any altruistic reasons, something the people in masks he meets in the game seem to question him about. Is him doing it really because he is a vigilante or why he can kill them without receiving any retribution? As the game goes on, however he saves a girl that seemed to be being sexually abused by the criminals, making him slide towards the white side.
- Blood Knight: As the post-credits story reveals, the biker got involved with the organization behind the phone calls because he thought that committing murders for them would be fun. And then he turns on them because it feels boring for him now.
- Evil Old Folks: In the last level, the old man who seems to lead the russian mafia freely admits he isn't a good person, so he isn't surprised the protagonist is coming for him.
- Lone Wolf Boss: The biker the hero faces in the telephone company level has nothing to do with the mafia; actually, he is searching for the people behind the telephone calls.
- Mind Screw: The game has a plot, but the dialogue is so vague about exactly what is happening that is hard to say if things are really happening as we are seeing on-screen.
- Stealth-Based Mission: Trauma, set on a hospital. The hero must evades cops who are waiting for him to recuperate to interrogate him about the murders happening all around Miami .
- The Eighties: The game is set in this decade and shows it through room decoration and the soundtrack, clearly inspired by 80s techno.
- Why Do You Keep Changing Jobs?: After missions, the protagonist meets again and again some bearded man with glasses behind a counter. The thing is, the place changes from a pizza store, to a convenience store, between others. It don't would be outrageous to think he is an hallucination.
